  I thought that some of my viewers are not aware of the history of 40k. I hope people will get interested in the game now.

 So, I got this online.I can not wait to see this. It is like a train wreak you know it is bad but you have to watch. I loved the first one so much I got it on my ipod. What do you think?

It is a very Chaos Christmas

It is a very Necron Christmas

     I got my presents early this  year. Of course the Necrons made a visit to my house. I got a cryptec to put in my rank and file warrior squad. I am not sure what upgrades to give him. My first thought is the voltac staff 4 12" shots with haywire and lightening filed with the warriors 10 plus strong will pack a good punch and defence. The Ghost Ark I got will allow the squad to stay at a good strengh.

    Next I got a Lychguard squad, so I plan on hyperphase swords and dispersion shields all around. I am not sure if they are worth it, but they look cool ( I love to field cool looking model, sometimes at the expense of winning the game.). The reflect shot to a unit 6 inches away it lame but maybe it will work once in a blue moon. I plan on using a Lord with a Warsycth to give a little extra punch and maybe  an orb to to make them last longer. I do not think these guys are built to destroy the enemy but more to hold the enemy at bay like a shield more then a sword.

   The next gift was a deathmark box set. The vedict is still out on them but them do look good. I a not sure but I might get some good use out of them in bigger games( as long as I get to use my Wriaths).

   Finally the the Annihilation Barge is going to play apart in the rise of  Tomb World.  It should give a good twenty four inch punch to anybody dumb enough to tread into the range of it. It also came with an overlord. Sweeetness.

   So I thank my girlfriend for enlarging the Necron Cause, I have told her that because she has gifted me that I would crush her as quickly as I can in the next game.

Attack the Block

  This movie is out for rental. It is a sci fi action thrill ride. The hero is a child thug who runs around with a bunch of kids robbing people for pocket change.
   His life changes when a meteor hit a car and he is attacked by a little monster. He and his crew go postal on the little creature. Then the monster's family comes a looking.  The best part of the movie is Ron's weed room. The monsters are super hairy gorillas with glowing teeth.
  I recommend that you give this a watch.  It is a fun movie

Movie Review: Scream 4

     I am watching Scream 4 and thought, why don't I blog a review at the same time. Well they have  the remaining  cast returning with Dewey as the sheriff and still a bad shot with a pistol. Gale Weathers is still a bitch.
     So far the beginning sucked because they try to be to be cool with it. But it fell flat with only one cool twist. The murder scenes needed a little more power and scare. Sidney so far kick boxes the bad guy in the first match.  The infusion of the younger cast fell flat. The underage drunk party was called Stab- A-Thon. Right now I am guessing Multiple killers.  Well as I guessed cops on guard gets it the worst. Note to watchers being "gay" does not help as a reason not to be killed.  The movie played out like you would think. Ok rental

 So, the rumor mill states a Halloween release. But I heard that in 09 and 2010.  I know that this time people think the new codex will be overpowering. I think that at first it will be tough and then people will learn to beat it. I hope the tomb stalker will be plastic. I also hope for plastic Wraith(love them in game). I hope they get rending(hope of hopes). The cryptex sound interesting. The only thing I am scared of is if the Night bringer is weakened. He was the only cool looking model in the range. Plus, he kicked ass in the game. Sure he costs a boat load, but he could gut the enemy.  What are you looking forward to?

Movie Review: Paul

    Paul the alien is a pot smoking lazy ET on the run. He meets up with to brits and the journey begins. I can say Seth Rogan was great as Paul. I have to admit, I can't find a movie Simon Pegg is not good in.  Jason Bateman is great as a man in black. I laughed lightly during the movie and even though the plot was predictable, it was a good one time thing.
 Paul is also responsible for most of the pop culture for the last 65 years.

Torchwood: Miracle Day Review 1

    So, I have watched the first 7 episodes of Miracle Day. I liked it alot and hope this is going to be a full series again.
    The plot is the world population will not die. This causes problems to the health care system. Yes, Health care is screwed because people are still getting really sick, shot, blown up, and crushed. So the hospitals are running out of pain killers and antibiotics. The government is running camps to contain the undeadish people. Well I would go on but as River Song Said " Spoilers Doctor Spoilers".

   Ok,  C. Thomas Howell and alot of other stars have cameo appearances. I say it is better then Childern Of Earth.

 So Forgeworld has released some new weapon arms for the contemptor . The two I like the most are posted below.



CONTEMPTOR PATTERN KHERES ASSAULT CANNON

This thing rocks the rules stat it was the first generation assault cannon. This means a stats adjustment (yeah), they make it assault 6 and kept the rending rules. All this goodness for 15 points. Now when I was at Gamesday they had a dreadnought with an assault cannon in each arm and a cyclonic (ish) missile launcher on the back. That would be 12 str 6 rending shots and a missile shot.  Love it. Guessing 225 pt.  What do you think?  

Here is the the second arm that I liked. Not because it has a good stat, but it is because of the look. I hate the old style twin linked heavy bolters. Well maybe not the new nurgle one.

Knights of Badassdom: Trailer

  I found the below trailer on the web. It has a good cast with Summer Glau and Steve Zahn (wizard who raises a succubus). The story seems to be about a group of LARP player accidentally calling a daemon to the mortal realm.  Now they are fighting for real. Since I don't play I might not pick up on all the joke but my friends should clue me in. I mean really how can you not laugh at a dwarf beating people with foam swords. I will definitely see this one even if I don't Larp. Will you see it?

Captain America: The First Avenger

   So, I went to see Captain America on opening day. I liked the fact that the origins were close to the comics. They left room for the Winter Soldier and in my opinion the Red Skull to return in later movies. They really down played the nazis and made hydra a spinter science unit.  The CGI was good and action was alittle light at the begining but picked up.

    Now it is time to tell you if I liked the movie I had been waiting years to see. Was the movie up to the hype?
  I would say yes and no.
    Yes, because it was a good movie with a good story and good acting. The costume upgrading as the movie progressed was a treat.
    No, because it was slow at the beginning and they didn't make you really hate the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving was great). They needed to develope the Red Skull more. They made him the head villain but you didn't get much feel for him. They also cut through alot of the war scenes to give more time at the beginning of the movie to Capt.'s development.
    In closing I say watch it twice because this was a great opening movie for the franchise for both Capt. America and Avengers. Let me know what you think.

40K Chaos Legions Coming in 2012?

   So the new buzz on the web is that the Chaos Legions will be released March 2012. I hope this will clear the way for  me to have a more playable Tzeench army. I also have a Khorne and a great nurgle army. So I wanted to post a small wish list on each army.

•  TZEENCH: More spells per Sorcerers (two for Aspiring Champions and 3 for Lords) and not to make casting roll.  I would also like to see a new spell or two.
• KHORNE: Not sure they are cheap and Killy. I guess a cooler daemon weapon and some new unnamed hotness
• NURGLE: Please let the Bikers and Terminators have feels no pain.

 As a whole the Codex needs dreadclaws to match the deep striking armies already out. Plus I hope for the return for the free upgrade to aspiring if squads reach the unholy number of thier gods.

  So, the show of death returns in October. The buzz is they are going to the Hershel farm and the season ends near the prison. This is only rumour and I have little info. I just know that I need to see someone eaten from the group and I think the zombies want the non comic driven characters flesh. Who do you think needs to be eaten in Season 2?

Malifaux: Nightmare Teddy

Now they finally released the nightmare teddy preview. It is  far  from the original teddy. But that is a good thing. I need to see teddy eating a few guild crews. It will look great in a two Teddy crew. Neverborns looked never better.

Pre Gen Con 2011

So I got my hotel planned "Westin". I got my work set to let me off,  2 16 hours shifts  and an eight hour quick return to a regular shift. I might be tired, but I will there.
  Malifaux shopping is high on the list. The War store is great usually 20 percent off. There are so many great vendors.  I can not wait for the new vendors to show off there wares. I hope to post  alot as I go through the hall.

 I just found this on the Web. I think they are going to see people going crazy over this crew with only a 4 day run. I think that I am going to get a set as a loner crew.

Wyrd Miniatures at Gen Con 2011

 So, the official release line up from Wyrd miniatures has been posted. The nightmare teddy will have extra heads and arm options for customization.  Also the Lady Justice release is going to be awesome. They are selling it as a crew and the beauty is it can be used as a resser or guild crew. That's right I am guessing that we are getting two sets of cards and possibly cooler zombies then what we already have in the range. Finally, the free for a hundred dollar spent female convict gunslinger. This is not including the Alternative and Avatar models. I will be dropping at least enough money for for the gunslinger if the model is hot enough. Oh hell all there female models are hot( Well the hag is not.). Peace, love, and soulstones.

 So this brings up the question are the avitars switching factions. I would say "YES" without a doubt. She looks like a resser to me. Bad for the guild, but someone will take her place.

Origins 2011: Less Geek Grease and Nicer People

 So, I went Origins for one day (Saturday). I payed $5.00 to get  the general watcher admission. This allowed me to walk around and buy stuff. The Vendor hall was about half the size of Gen Con. There are good things about a small con; Less geek grease, more demo spaces, and less people slamming into you. Bad things about smaller cons: less cool costumes, less vendors, less demo games.
  I got a chance to watch the Origins 40k Tournament. Most of the guys seemed to be sportsman, but I did hear of at least one person quitting early in the tournament because of having a losing streak. The models in the games were not all painted and few eye popping conversion if any. I did love the fact that Necrons were shown some love. I did not stay  to see who won. I might try to compete next year. I recommend people entering if they go, it not adepticon so newer players won't be intimidated.
  As for the shopping, the fiend got two good condition AD&D 2nd ed books (Master & Players book) for like 18 bucks. He also got shirts that I wouldn't wear in public ( M&M S&M shirt, and others). I only bought two things a foam chain sword ( Great looking people love it at the 40K area.) and an inflatable  20 sided die for Hut Tub role playing(still working out some kinks). 
 I still plan on hitting Gen Con.
   So Go to origins at least once it is fun.

Forgeworld: Contemptor

 So Forgeworld has done it again another must have model. Oh oh blood angles here I come, I am a choas killer. Or this maybe a good Nurgle model I might call him Oscar. I will wait to see what they will do for Chaos.

Malifaux: Green Stuff Bases

 So my friend from Tennessee is going to Gen Con he is huge into Malifaux. So I need to get a move on my crew. I just got done finishing green stuffing my 6 bases. I tried for a cobblestone look. I hope to let it dry and then glue the models on and start painting.
  I do not plan on winning by any means, but I know I will have fun. I will post pic when I get them done. Lets see if I can make the deadline.

Forgeworld: Dark Eldar Reaper

So Dark Eldar has gotten some love from Forgeworld. The stats on the gun are a little over powered. It has two modes of fire a 5 inch blast (for Troops) and a concentrated beam. The blast gets the haywire rule: after damage roll a d6 2-5 glancing, 6 pen this is extra. Beam gets the kill shock rule: d3 Haywire rolls and instant death to models with toughness. It runs under 150 points and I think 2 could kill any Baneblane around. What do you think?

Sisters of Battle: Coming Soon

  Well it hit the web, the sisters are coming to a White Dwarf near you. Lets hope it is not as bad as the Blood Angels codex that I had to live with for years. I don't play sisters, but I might have started a small force to add to my collection.
  Two parts means fluff in the first magazine and list in the second.  I hope and pray they will release plastics.  I wish for plastic priests and lots of them.  But think fine cast is in order so they don't have to make new models.
  The bright side is the sisters are at least having some sort of update. This gives the Shadow a playable force to be crushed by nurgle or necron (if they would ever update).
 

Gaming Fluff

 I play games with rich backgrounds. I thought if the fluff was bad then I would not enjoy the game. But then I got Malifaux and did not even buy the fluffy book. I decided to get the rules only book. I hope to get into the game before reading the fluff as to not fall in love with story and live with the game play. But to hold the game first and then get to know the story. It is not because I am afraid of the fluff. I bought my first crew on looks alone. I love 40k fluff and read tons of novels. Then I buy stuff to match groups in the books and get my but kicked because of the fiend and others playing the new hotness of the web min max crud. I then fall into the trap of building a competitive army losing the fluff I liked.
  I built a  31 man zombie unit for my nurgle army because of fluff, it took forever to build and paint. I wanted the army to have personality but they end up holding objectives so i have a Chance of winning. I would love to have them roaming around eating flesh.
 So this time get the crew and upgrade to whatever looks cool with good rules.
 Is fighting with fluff gone to the wind???

Malifaux: First Crew

 So I picked my first Crew. The Von Schill called out to me. It looked like a good starter army, looked easy to paint, styled like swat.
  I bought the mini rule book and am 30 pages into it. I plan on painting them up and looking for a henchman (wyrd sponsored Gamer) to teach me the ropes.
  If all goes well I will get at least two more crews so I can have friends play at will. I am not sure what else to get so I am open for ideas. The Shadow might play Ortega (Awesome gunslingers. I might hit up a guild group like witch hunters.

  I think this might be the filler needed to cover my gap of 40k games.
 I plan on going soul stone hunting soon.

Chick Flicks: What we do for Love

 So, I was at work and my Blog mentor(Dan is the man, This blog would not be here without him, Thanks) and I had talked about Chick flicks we watched for our girlfriends and in his case wife. We laughed that we liked some of them but never liked to admit it. So her I go to start a POST to get people(not just guys) to tell me what their top 3 chick flicks are. So I will start by listing three, now these are not my favorite but I would watch them without a fight.



 1. Some kind of wonderful: 1987, Eric Stoltz a grease monkey tomboy play played by  Mary Stuart Masterson  help Eric try to land Lea Thompson.  The story of a guy trying to have the perfect date was great.







2. Say Anything: 1989, High school senior Lloyd Dobler John Cusack wants nothing more than to go out with beautiful and intelligent Diane Court Ione Skye . Lloyd attempts to win her heart over the objections of her over-protective father John Mahoney before Diane leaves for a scholarship in England.

3. 50FirstDates: 2004, Henry Roth Adam Sandler, lives in a Hawaiian paradise with the company of endless women with no strings attached. This is until he meets Lucy Whitmore Drew Barrymore. Both Henry and Lucy enjoy the company of each other and feels the start of a serious relationship occurring. Approaching Lucy the next day, Henry is confused when Lucy fails to recognise him. This is the moment Henry discovers that Lucy actually suffers from short term memory loss and can't remember each individual day. Henry won't let this stop him and is prepared to make her fall in love with him all over again, each and every day.

Hades Breaching Drills

    So for my birthday I received two Hades Breaching Drills. They will fit nicely in my Imperial Guard army. They seem to be the mawloc of the guard.  When they deep strike onto the board  they drop a 5 inch template strengh 10 armour pen 1 (hotness from below). Then it can assault vehicles at str 10 melta. But it can only move 6 inches in the movement phase. It also can only tank shock troops. The gun is just a melta. The other cool factor is veterans jumping out the next turn with no chance for a mishap roll. If small terrain is in the way remove it. Need to take out a bunker, auto hits buildings in the assault.

    My plan is to field both of them with a Valkyrie and a Vendetta. I think,  I might  use Yarrick or a lord commissar and with a Vet squad x3 melta, vet squad  x3 plasma (to hold my objective), vet squad heavy flamer and flamer maybe a grenade launcher( maybe add Harker). Not sure with the rest of the army. I might add a tank or two. I would love input.

    If five guardsmen have to die to kill just one of the unclean, then the imperium will recruit 10 more to replace  them. Such is the way of purity: Lord General Garth  after the Zemo uprising.  

Priest: After Thoughts

  I caught the midnight showing of Priest. I must say the reviews were a little hard but not to off. The background scenes were a little long and useless(it wasted time.). The Dialogue needed tweaking and refining. The plot was not bad at all.

  I felt it was worth a see, unlike the reviewers. The western feel was a good twist. But the sheriff was to get the teen girls to watch(sad, they could have found someone better.). I will also point out that futuristic fighting monks have been done better by Christan Bale in Equilibrium ( Gun priests were much cooler, but no vamps.).
   The vamps were a light sensitive race that had been on the planet since the beginning of history. They used spit/vomit to build hives cities. After the wars the vamps were put on reservations,( American Indian tie in). 
   Black Hat the villain needed a little work also he had the making of a good antagonist but fell a little flat. His best scene was when he is dancing during the the destruction  of a town and they cut it way to short.  They did make him uber tough and left him viable for a sequel so that could rock with a little tweaking.
  I am going to rent it again, I hope that people will give it a rent.  

V: Goes to the Red Dust

ABC announced that they killed V after the second season. I hope that they at least give it a tv movie.  Well I guess ABC will end it with the aliens on top and little hope of the humans making it through. Lets pray that Falling Skies will cover the aliens taking over the world gap V left. Rest in Peace V let the hope for a reboot in 5 -10 years.

Stargate Universe Over!?!?!

   Well it is over, and I am at a loss to give a good review. No one died as I had hoped. No one made it home( Not including  Col.Talferd a few shows back.). The final battle was lacking the punch needed to have people to even care to watch reruns. But, as I said in my earlier posts, they left room for a movie.
  The only thing I liked throughout the show was Eli. He was the constant that kept the show grounded. He is/was the most relatable person a geek could be. I will say I wish they would have had him use more geek quotes then he did in the series. I hate how they left him staring into space with doubts of him making it through(oh hook me to see how poor Eli makes out.).
   It looks that the Stargate saga as a whole has comes to an end. The community should mourn the loss of any long lasting franchise. Rest in Peace Universe and lets hope Eli makes it.
